'Please Divorce Us' - Husband Begs Court

My wife wants me dead - Husband

Absolutely disenchanted with the sort of woman his wife turned out to be, a certain Mr. Bayo Olukunle is begging a Lagos court to promptly dissolve his marriage.

Lamenting before a Lagos court, Mr. Olukunle described his marriage as a total disappointment. He explained that contrary to his initial perception of his wife, he painfully discovered that the woman had been pretending all along.

This, he said was one of the factors that cemented his resolve to part ways with his wife. “She pretended to be who she wasn’t. She probably forgot the saying that a person’s character is like smoke; it can’t be hidden. I’m even happy that I realized this now. She should just forget about this marriage.”

He told the court that his wife was a very troublesome woman. “I’m yet to meet a woman who’s more cantankerous than my wife. She’s always fighting. I don’t know where she gets the energy from but that’s just the way she is.”

He also decried his wife’s blatant disregard and disrespect for his parents and other members of his family. “She’s very rude. She insults virtually everyone. I always tell her that it’s very wrong but she blocks her ears to such things.”

The man who resides at 1, Bola Ayeni Street, Papa Ashafa, Agege, Lagos further informed the court that his wife was fond of disgracing him publicly.

To further justify his yearning for a divorce, he informed the court that his wife had made several attempts to cut his life short. “Initially I wasn’t sure but now I am. My wife wants me dead. She’s been threatening my life for a very long time. I’ve never had rest of mind in this marriage.”

Obviously out of love, he reaffirmed the absence of love between him and his wife. “I’m just fed up with the whole thing. It is pointless staying married to a woman I’m not in love with. My wife and I can’t remain married. There’s no more love between us.”

The woman, Mrs. Modinat Olukunle was however not in court to defend the allegations.

The court president therefore adjourned the matter to a later date.

What do you honestly feel we should do to this man. Do we clap for him and follow up with a hug or do we baptise him with a thunderous slap
