When popular screen diva, Genevieve Nnaji Tweeted a picture of herself with a ring on her finger, a lot of her fans naturally became excited at the possibilities that the photo held especially when they spotted the ring on her 'ring finger.'
The fact that she captioned the image "kisses specially for U" further fueled the chances that perhaps, the actress had finally decided to embrace the institution of marriage.
The excitement however, mellowed down for those who realised that the ring was on her right hand and not her left hand as they had initially assumed.
Despite her single status, Nnaji remains one of the best; if not the very best actress Nigeria has ever produced and her endless list of brilliant performance speak volumes about her immense acting talent.
She kicked off her acting career as a child actress in the then popular television soap opera Ripples at the age of 8.
In 1998, at the age of 19 she was introduced into the growing Nigerian film industry with the movie “Most Wanted”. Her subsequent movies include Last Party, Mark of the Beast and Ijele.
In 2010 she starred in the award winning film Ijé: The Journey and has starred in over 80 Nollywood movies.
Genevieve Nnaji is considered to be one of the best paid actresses in Nollywood and in 2004, she signed a recording contract with EKB Records, a Ghanaian record label, and released her debut album One Logologo Line, a mix of R&B, Hip-Hop and Urban music.
